| | Fueled by greed for Audrey's scrummy buttermilk scones, I wanted MORE MORE MORE. So I had to make some.
wholemeal buttermilk scones
I didn't think I'ld like whole meal anything, but this
wasn't bad at all. Nice and oh so fluffy. Next time though, instead of
half white half wholemeal flour, i'm going to go 3/4 white, 1/4
wholemeal. And since I had the buttermilk, and some leftover pumpkin in
the fridge, I decided to make a tea bread.
Pumpkin, nuts & currants tea bread
This tea bread was absolutely MOIST. It was looovely. And
so gratifying when lightly toasted and smeared with butter. The nuts
just made it a perfect accompaniment to a nice cup of tea :) It
received rave reviews at work! :)))
Also harvested some herbs from the garden to make a pork in white wine stew- but forgot to the pictures of the final product, :)
Clockwise from left: sage, rosemary, majoram, fennel, thyme
The
stew was nice and hearty. Sort of the kind of thing you want to cook since you've
gotten the oven going. My house was warm with the aromas of spices,
herbs, and breakfast. What a good thing to wake up to, especially when it's a
shiverring 4deg outside :)
